Masjid Kapitan Keling, George Town
This 19th Century mosque is named after the Indian Muslim merchant ‘Kapitan Keling’, named Caudeer Mohudeen who was the headman of the Indian Muslim community at that time.
The mosque was first built in 1801, but has been extended and renovated up to 1930 (the present architecture). The mosque building style is remenissance of the architectural style of the period in Malaysia. Permission has to be obtained to enter.
